National Assembly Speaker Receives Montenegrin Ambassador to Serbia in Farewell Visit

The National Assembly Speaker, Dr Nebojsa Stefanovic, received the Ambassador of Montenegro to Serbia, H.E. Igor Jovovic, in a farewell visit.


Speaker Stefanovic opined that the bilateral relations between Serbia and Montenegro have achieved significant progress, stressing how important it is to continue to further them mainly for the sake of the two countries’ Euro-integration process. Speaking of the need to improve economic cooperation, Stefanovic opined that joint application for European Union investment funds which would be used to build roads and infrastructure would contribute to the development of tourism and the economy as a whole. He thanked the Ambassador for the excellent cooperation and his efforts on developing friendly relations between Serbia and Montenegro.

The Montenegrin Ambassador to Serbia agreed that it is important to employ regional cooperation to develop the economic, infrastructural and cultural cooperation between the two countries which would in turn lead to the further improvement of overall relations. The Ambassador was also pleased that the governments of both countries believe that the bilateral relations have reached a satisfactory stage, which is in the interest of both Serbia and Montenegro.
