National Assembly Speaker Receives Iranian Ambassador

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic, received the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Belgrade, H.



The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic, received the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Belgrade, H.E. Seyed Morteza Mir Heydari, at the end of his mandate in Serbia.

In the conversation both expressed the wish to improve parliamentary cooperation between the two countries. They also stressed the fine cooperation in international forums, especially within the UN.

Ambassador Heydari emphasised the importance of the activity of the Movement of Non-Aligned Countries, particularly regarding the current Near East crisis and expressed an opinion that Serbia should become involved .

Assembly Speaker Djukic-Dejanovic informed her guest of the planned participation in the upcoming regional conference of parliamentary speakers concerning the current crisis in Gaza.

The National Assembly Speaker also informed Ambassador Heydari about the formation of a friendship group with Iran.
