National Assembly Speaker Receives Ambassador of Kingdom of Bahrain

Today, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic received the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain H.E. Ahmed Al Saati, covering the Republic of Serbia from Moscow on a non-residential basis.

National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic stressed that Serbia and Bahrain have very friendly relations currently in a development stage, as evidenced by the meetings of two countries’ highest officials. He recalled that two years ago, as the head of diplomacy, he had visited the Kingdom of Bahrain and had the opportunity to meet with King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. Recently, on the sidelines of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Madrid, he had the opportunity to meet with the Speaker of the Council of Representatives of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal, and on the occasion confirm the visit of the National Assembly Speaker to Bahrain.

Dacic stressed that this year's meeting of the Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic with the King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, gave a special impetus to the development of relations, after which it was agreed to open an Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Bahrain, to further contribute to strengthening and improving bilateral relations, given the insufficient use of potential and opportunities for cooperation in various fields. He thanked Bahrain for the help extended to Serbia in the fight against the pandemic.

The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain H.E. Ahmed Al Saati agreed that the opening of embassies would greatly contribute to the establishment of regular dialogue and improvement of political and parliamentary cooperation, as well as cooperation in the field of culture, sports and youth and multilateral cooperation.
