Paratriathlete and Serbian national team member Haji Lazar Filipovic has 2% of vision in one eye and no vision at all in the other, in other words, when he is outdoors in daylight, he can recognize some obstacles and shapes and from very close he can see and recognize a face. He has been involved in sports from an early age, with cycling being primary love. Besides paratriathlon, he also takes part in many cycling and running competitions. He is the winner of numerous medals in European and world competitions, and says that his favourite is the Olympic silver he won at the 2020 Paralympic Games in Australia.

National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic, also former Vice-President of the Yugoslav Olympic Committee and President of the Sports Federation of Serbia, expressed great satisfaction at the meeting and thanked Lazar Filipovic for defending our national colours with such strength of spirit and bringing great success to Serbian sports. He especially praised Filipovic as a promoter and motivator of sports for persons with disabilities.

Part of the meeting was dedicated to the difficulties that people with disabilities face in sports. National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic said that he would invest personal effort and do everything in his power to provide support to athletes with disabilities.
