National Assembly Speaker Meets with Norwegian Ambassador to Serbia

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ana Brnabic met today with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway Kristin Melsom.

Brnabic and Melsom discussed the National Assembly’s activities in the coming period and the Assembly Speaker’s priorities. Brnabic said that she would try to strengthen parliamentary diplomacy and foster closer parliamentary cooperation between Serbia and Norway, which Melsom very much in favour of.

The Speaker said that the Assembly worked very hard during the summer to prepare for the implementation of the ODIHR recommendations for the improvement of the electoral process, an effort completed with the help of civil society organisations.

The National Assembly Speaker thanked the Ambassador for Norway's support to our European integration, as well as for the help in implementing reforms, as the Kingdom of Norway is one of the largest bilateral donors in Serbia.

Brnabic and Melsom also discussed the current geopolitical situation in the region and the world, critical mineral resources and Norway's experiences in that area.
