National Assembly Speaker Meets with Emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah
The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Maja Gojkovic, currently in official visit to Kuwait, met today with Emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah.
Gojkovic said that the two countries have a long history of good diplomatic relations and is sure that her visit to Kuwait would contribute to their improvement and intensification.
Gojkovic said she expected the visit to open doors of cooperation and be followed by other meetings between Serbian and Kuwaiti dignitaries.
The National Assembly Speaker thanked the Emir for Kuwait’s help after the floods in May last year, saying that Serbia is restoring its destroyed infrastructure with the help of friends like Kuwait. Gojkovic also congratulated Emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah on the well-deserved recognition of “humanitarian leader” awarded him by the United Nations.
Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah was very pleased to meet with the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, sure that her visit would have a positive impact on the relations between the two countries.
Reminding of their long history of relations, the Emir said that the two countries enjoy a great deal of trust and long-standing friendly relations.
Gojkovic also met with Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, and visited the Kuwaiti Red Crescent which helped during the floods in Serbia.
Gojkovic began her visit to Kuwait yesterday, with a meeting with the Speaker of the National Assembly of the State of Kuwait Marzouq Ali Al-Ghanim, at whose invitation she came to visit Kuwait.
