National Assembly Speaker Meets with Danish Minister for European Affairs
The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ana Brnabic met with the Minister for European Affairs of the Kingdom of Denmark Marie Bjerre. On the occasion, they discussed key issues related to the improvement of bilateral relations and cooperation within the European Union.
They also discussed parliamentary cooperation, as well as opportunities for an exchange of experiences with Denmark in the fields of environmental protection, digitisation, science and research, and artificial intelligence, which could contribute to strengthening relations between the two countries and our further economic development. The officials highlighted the importance of Denmark's presidency of the Council of the European Union in the second half of 2025, with focus on Serbia's priority foreign policy goal, which is membership in the European Union.
Speaker Brnabic emphasised our country's commitment to European integration and asked for Denmark's support in implementing the necessary reforms, stressing that the opening of Cluster 3 would be a significant motivating factor for Serbia.
Minister Bjerre stressed the importance of future EU enlargement, adding that Denmark sees Serbia in the EU, as this would contribute to the strengthening of the union itself.
This meeting was a significant opportunity for deepening relations and laying the foundations for future cooperation, and it is expected that the results of the talks will contribute to the development of mutual cooperation and improvement of our position on the European path.
