Brnabic emphasised the importance of cooperation between the two parliaments and Serbia’s interest in deepening the cooperation between the two institutions. She said that Serbia remains firmly committed to its European path, as well as to preservation of peace, stability and the progress of the Western Balkans. She also said that a stable and prosperous region is essential for the success of all, Serbia included, and that we are determined to resolve all open issues through dialogue and that the challenges we are facing are complex and demand open dialogue and readiness to compromise to everyone’s the benefit.

The Speaker said that Serbia and Canada share an 83 years long history of diplomatic relations and had been allies in the most important moments of global history, during the two world wars.

The officials agreed that today we share the common interest of preserving stability, peace and security, both in our respective regions and in the face of current global challenges.

Ambassador Cameron opined that the recent visits to Serbia by a number of the world’s high dignitaries are a clear indicator of the country’s geopolitical strategy. The Parliament Speaker agreed and stressed that it is a testament to the dedication and relations of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.
