National Assembly Speaker Meets with Belarusian Deputy Foreign Minister
National Assembly Speaker Dr Nebojsa Stefanovic received the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Alena Kupchyna, at the National Assembly House.
In the course of the discussion, Speaker Stefanovic and Deputy Minister Kupchyna agreed that parliamentary cooperation and economic relations should both be improved, and the countries’ exchange raised to the projected level of 500 million USD a year. They also noted that Belarus and Serbia share both close friendly relations and common economic interests which should be deepened.
Speaker Stefanovic thanked Belarus for its principled support and non-recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo. Kupchyna said that the support is moral and grounded in the principles of international law. The Belarusian Deputy Foreign Minister invited a parliamentary delegation and the National Assembly Speaker to visit Belarus, which Speaker Stefanovic was very pleased to accept.
