National Assembly Speaker Meets with Azerbaijani Ambassador to Serbia

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic met today with the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan H.E. Kamil Khasiyev.

National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic stressed that the bilateral relations with Azerbaijan are friendly, grounded in mutual understanding. He expressed the desire to continue with the further deepening and strengthening of the overall cooperation, parliamentary cooperation included, especially in the year when we mark the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.

Khasiyev pointed out that political relations between the two countries are at a high level, based on mutual respect and observance of the principles of international law and territorial integrity. He also praised the current bilateral and multilateral cooperation between the two parliaments, especially within the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

The officials went on to discuss the upcoming presidential, parliamentary and local elections in Serbia, planned for 3 April 3, and agreed to work on organising high-level parliamentary visits to contribute to the improvement of overall relations and strengthening of the friendship between our peoples.
