National Assembly Speaker Maja Gojkovic Talks to Czech President Milos Zeman

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Maja Gojkovic, met today, in Prague, with Czech President Milos Zeman to discuss Euro-integration and economic cooperation and both officials agreed that the relations between the two countries are traditionally good and friendly.


Zeman stressed that the Czech Republic supports Serbia’s Euro-integration and endorses strengthening the relationship between the two countries, especially in the field of economy, trade and investment, also saying that the Czech Republic is interested in investing into Serbia.

Gojkovic agreed that there is room to intensify economic cooperation, adding that Serbia is interested in strengthening Czech investments.

In the course of today’s visit to the Czech Republic, the National Assembly Speaker also met with Czech Foreign Minister Lubomir Zaoralek, Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, Jan Hamacek and Vice President of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic Premysl Sobotka.

Gojkovic thanked the Czech officials for their support of Serbia’s pro-European efforts stressing that Serbia is fully committed to European integration and economic reform conducted by the Government in order to attract investments and help economic recovery.
