National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic Receives Numerous Congratulations on Statehood Day

On the occasion of the country’s Statehood Day, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic received congratulations from Russia, Slovakia, Azerbaijan and Iran.


The congratulations were sent by the President of the National Council of the Slovak Republic Boris Kollar who congratulated the national holiday on behalf of the MPs and on his own behalf, expressing confidence that the friendly relations and previous cooperation between Slovakia and Serbia would continue to develop.

"Slovakia has been supporting Serbia in its process of transformation and European integration for many years. I believe that the efforts Serbia is making will contribute to its further development and further rapprochement with the EU, and in that respect, Slovakia is still ready to continue sharing its authentic experience with Serbia," Kolar said in his congratulatory note.

Valentina Matviyenko congratulated Statehood day to Dacic on behalf of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and her own behalf.

She said that, for the citizens of Russia, the people of Serbia are a model of breadth of kinship, fidelity to their ideals and steadfastness in protecting the sovereignty of their country and dignified preservation of national traditions.

"We are pleased to emphasize the high level of trust and mutual understanding that have become the foundation of Russia-Serbia relations, which are developing in the spirit of strategic partnership, friendship and alliance," Matviyenko said.

Matviyenko added that the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Federation of Russia is interested in developing a constructive parliamentary dialogue with the National Assembly of Serbia and determined to further strengthen cooperation on a bilateral basis, as well as in multilateral formats, for the benefit of the people.

She wished Dacic success in the responsible legislative activity, and the people of brotherly Serbia, prosperity and well-being.

The Speaker of the Parliament of Azerbaijan, Milli Majlis, Sahibe Gafarova, wished stable progress and prosperity to the friendly people of Serbia, as well as further flourishing of warm relations between the two countries.

Congratulations also came from the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.

"I hope that thanks to the political will of high-ranking officials and parliamentary cooperation between the two countries, we will witness the growing strengthening and deepening of bilateral relations", he wrote, wishing happiness and prosperity to the friendly people of Serbia.
