National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic Meets with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.

Expressing his pleasure to be meeting with his former colleague and good friend, National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic opined that the bilateral relations are at a very high level. He stressed that, as the National Assembly Speaker, he would strive to build the best possible relations with the Turkish Parliament and further parliamentary diplomacy. The coming visit of the National Assembly Speaker and National Assembly parliamentary delegation to Ankara, at the invitation of the Speaker of the Turkish Parliament Mustafa Sentop, will doubtlessly contribute to these efforts.

The National Assembly Speaker informed Minister Çavuşoğlu about the National Assembly’s activities, with a special focus on the ongoing constitutional reform.

Minister Çavuşoğlu informed the National Assembly Speaker that, in the course of his two-day visit to Serbia, he had excellent meetings with the Serbian leadership, confirming the high level of relations between Serbia and Turkey. He thanked the National Assembly Speaker for his contributions to the development of relations between the two countries in all of his previous posts, adding how pleased he was with the fact that the projects the two of them launched together, as ministers, are being realised today. He also expressed his pleasure at the opening of a Turkish Consulate in Novi Pazar.
