National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic Meets with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic met today with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov.


National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic opined that the relations between Serbia and Russia are characterised by partnership and cooperation in all areas, stressing that he strives to contribute to their improvement by strengthening parliamentary cooperation. To that end, he expressed hope that the Chairman of the Russian State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin would visit Serbia by the end of the year.

The Assembly Speaker took the opportunity to once again thank the Russian Federation for the strong support it provides to the Republic of Serbia at the international level.

The Russian Deputy Prime Minister thanked Ivica Dacic for his contribution to the improvement of relations between Serbia and Russia in all of his previous posts, expressing satisfaction that the projects he two of them started together as co-chairs of the Serbia-Russia Intergovernmental Committee on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation. He said that in the course of his visit to Belgrade, he had very constructive meetings with Serbian officials to discuss important strategic issues.

The meeting was also attended by the Head of the Serbian Progressive Party Parliamentary Group Aleksandar Martinovic, and the Head of the Serbian National Assembly’s Parliamentary Friendship Group with the Russian Federation Milovan Drecun.
