National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic Meets with Kazakh Ambassador to Serbia
The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic met today with the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Serbia Gabit Syzydikbekov.
Ambassador Syzydikbekov congratulated National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic on taking office, confident that he would continue to contribute to the strengthening of cooperation between Serbia and Kazakhstan in his new position, as he did as the head of diplomacy.
National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic said that the bilateral relations between the two countries are traditionally good, that Serbia considers Kazakhstan a friendly country and that he would try to further overall relations through the improvement of parliamentary cooperation. He informed his guest that a Parliamentary Friendship Group with Kazakhstan was recently formed in the National Assembly, which is ready to continue working on bringing the two parliaments closer together and strengthening friendly ties.
Ambassador Syzydikbekov agreed that the political relations between Kazakhstan and Serbia are at a high level and reminded his host of the support the country provides to Serbia regarding the Kosovo-Metohija issue by respecting the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The officials agreed that there is a lot of room for improvement of economic cooperation between the two countries and that it is essential to intensify contacts as soon as the conditions allow it. They agreed to organize visits of the parliament speakers as well as the parliamentary friendship groups next year, after the stabilization of health conditions.
