National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic Meets with German Ambassador to Serbia Thomas Schieb

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic received German Ambassador to Serbia Thomas Schieb today.

The two officials discussed the current relations between Serbia and Germany and activities in the field of parliamentary cooperation planned for the next period. Among other things, they also discussed National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic’s upcoming visit to the Federal Republic of Germany, at the invitation of Wolfgang Schauble, President of the German Federal Council, planned for 25 June.

The officials agreed that the upcoming visit will significantly contribute to the strengthening of parliamentary cooperation between the two countries as well as the overall bilateral relations between the Republic of Serbia and the Federal Republic of Germany.

National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic also informed his guest about the National Assembly’s daily activities, its special session dedicated to the proposed constitutional amendments and the plans for the continuation of the inter-party dialogue.

In the course of the meeting, Ambassador Thomas Schieb took the opportunity to present National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic with a letter of thanks from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany Heiko Maas, for the opening of the new building of the German Embassy in Belgrade in April this year.
