National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic Meets with Armenian Ambassador
The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic met today with H.E. Ashot Hovakimyan, non-resident Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Serbia stationed in Prague.
The Armenian Ambassador congratulated Ivica Dacic on taking office and wished him success in the performance of this responsible function, with the hope that good parliamentary cooperation between Serbia and Armenia would be continued in the upcoming period.
National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic thanked Ambassador Hovakimyan adding how pleased he was he would also be meeting today with the recently established Parliamentary Friendship Group with Armenia.
He also expressed readiness to personally contribute to the further rapprochement of the two parliaments, as well as to the strengthening of bilateral relations and comprehensive cooperation with Armenia, which Serbia sees as a very close and friendly state.
H.E. Ashot Hovakimyan informed the Assembly Speaker about the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh. Ivica Dacic expressed deep regret over the difficult situation hoping that an amicable solution to the recent conflict would contribute to peace and prosperity in the region.
The officials praised the beginning of the operation of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Yerevan, and Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic expressed his readiness to pay an official visit to Armenia, when the epidemiological situation allows it.
