National Assembly Speaker Congratulates Newly-Elected Patriarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejnovic congratulated the newly-elected 45th head of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Irinej of Nis, on his appointment as the new Patriarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church.

“I am sure that orthodox believers and Serbian citizens have gained a worthy successor to the reposed Patriarch Pavle and that your famed eloquence and open approach shall successfully lead the Serbian orthodox people. It is my warmest wish that, with the support of the other Serbian bishops, you may provide visionary leadership to the Serbian Orthodox Church and spread the orthodox spirit in Serbia and the world”, the letter of congratulation reads.
