National Assembly Speaker Calls Presidential Election for 2 April 2017
National Assembly Speaker Maja Gojkovic called the election for President of the Republic of Serbia today.
“I urge the citizens of Serbia to participate in the election on 2 April and decide who will be Serbia’s President in the coming period i.e. term.
I urge the citizens of Serbia to follow the election campaigns carefully and cast their vote for the candidate whose programme they deem most worthy because they are paramount for Serbia’s future and stability.
I urge the citizens to vote and wish that they elect the best candidate who will seriously and responsibly cooperate with the Government of the Republic of Serbia and fight for the preservation of the political and economic stability achieved so far, as well as the freedom, independence and sovereignty of the Republic of Serbia.
I also have a message for the candidates, I urge them to respect the citizens of Serbia in their campaigns and count on their votes only if they speak to them through their programmes, and not hate.
I urge them to fight for the votes with their programmes, work and responsibility, and respect the democratic process and the will of the citizens of Serbia which will be expressed in the election!” said the National Assembly Speaker.
