The interns who had completed the student practice programme at the National Assembly, realised with the support of the National Democratic Institute (NDI), received their diplomas today, at the National Assembly House.
Addressing the assembly, Radoslav Vujovic, National Assembly Deputy Secretary General, said that the NDI had recognised the importance of student practice and successfully realised the programme at the National Assembly, evidenced by the reports of both the students and their mentors.
NDI Director in Serbia Tom Kelly said that this programme was one of NDI’s central ones aimed toward strengthening state institutions and was an investment into the future.
On the behalf of the interns, student Marko Kihler thanked everybody for the opportunity to participate in the National Assembly internship programme. He opined that they gained practical experience in the course of their internship. He was especially grateful to the National Democratic Institute, the trainers and the National Assembly staff who helped realise the programme.
The National Assembly Deputy Secretary General then proceeded to present the interns with diplomas.
The student practice programme this year took place from March to November and during the nine months they spent at the National Assembly departments, committees and parliamentary groups the 10 interns had the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience about the responsibilities and work of the National Assembly Service.
