National Assembly Deputy Speaker Veroljub Arsic Receives Departing Kazakh Ambassador to Serbia

National Assembly Deputy Speaker Veroljub Arsic met today at the National Assembly House with the departing Kazakh Ambassador to Serbia H.E. Nurbah Rustemov.

Arsic emphasized the importance of the intensification of cooperation between Serbia and Kazakhstan, greatly improved since the opening of the Kazakh Embassy in Belgrade last year.

He opined that the National Assembly Speaker Maja Gojkovic and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic’s visits to Kazakhstan had contributed to the improvement of cooperation and mutual understanding. Arsic also emphasized the importance of parliamentary cooperation stressing that the PFG with Kazakhstan is one of the largest and most active in the parliament.

The National Assembly Deputy Speaker thanked Kazakhstan for respecting Serbia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, hoping that the cooperation and support would continue to be progressive in future.

In addition to political and economic cooperation, Arsic also praised cultural cooperation. “Cultural cooperation promotes mutual understanding and with it respect and assistance”, Arsic concluded.

The departing Kazakh Ambassador to Serbia Nurbah Rustemov confirmed that Kazakhstan respects Serbia’s territorial integrity and will remain firm in its stance at the international political scene.

Rustemov also emphasized the importance of parliamentary cooperation, asking the MPs to endorse the proposal to establish a direct line between Belgrade and the capital of Kazakhstan.

“A direct line would provide a solid basis to strengthen entrepreneurship and trade between the two states, as well as advance tourism and the people of Kazakhstan could learn more about Belgrade”, the Ambassador explained.

The meeting was also attended by the newly appointed Kazakh Ambassador Gabit Sizdikbekov and MP Dragomir Karic.

Sizdikbekov pledged to continue with the good cooperation fostered by the previous Ambassador, adding that there is room to advance cooperation in great many areas, economy, culture and tourism among them. He thanked the hosts for the excellent parliamentary cooperation, evidenced by the fact that the PFG with Kazakhstan being the third largest in the parliament.
