National Assembly Deputy Speaker Meets with Cuban Ambassador to Serbia
National Assembly Deputy Speaker Prof. Dr Vladimir Marinkovic met today, at the National Assembly House, with the Cuban Ambassador to Serbia, H.E. Adela Mayra Ruiz Garcia.
The Cuban Ambassador informed Prof. Dr Marinkovic that the abolition of the sanctions is one of Cuba’s foreign policy goals, adding that there is readiness to open dialogue with the US. H.E. Ruiz Garcia also informed the National Assembly Deputy Speaker that there has been some progress in the cooperation between Cuba and the European Union.
The National Assembly Deputy Speaker said that dialogue between Cuba and the US is essential and in the interest of both nations. He thanked the Republic of Cuba for its principled support of Serbia’s efforts to maintain sovereignty and territorial integrity and for its non-recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo-Metohija.
The officials noted that the relationship between the two countries should be intensified, as should the cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, tourism, healthcare, science and education.
