National Assembly Deputy Speaker Gordana Comic at 22nd Economic Forum in Poland

National Assembly Deputy Speaker and member of the European Integration Committee Gordana Comic is to take part in the 22nd Economic Forum organised by the Warsaw Institute for Eastern Studies, to be held in Krynica, Poland, from 4 to 6 September 2012.


More than 300 representatives of parliaments, governments, chambers of commerce, EU institutions and businessmen will take part in the forum. In more than 10 panels, they will discuss the role of the state in the economy, strategies of addressing the global economic crisis, the EU’s new role in the further expansion of the EU, role of the media in light of globalization, crisis of democracy, sustainable development and vision of leadership for the 21st century.

Deputy Speaker Comic will be one of the speakers in the panel on “Should EU Enlargement Continue?" and give one of the introductory speeches in the Economic Forum’s final plenary session “Crisis of Democracy – In Search of Leadership”.

Parallel to the Economic Forum, the Polish Sejm (parliament) organises a conference titled “Europe of the Carpathians", focusing on the role of the Carpathian region in the EU. Deputy Speaker Comic will participate in the second part of the conference as a speaker in the panel “Sustainable development of the Carpathians – the role of the parliament”.
