National Assembly Delegation to IPU at Parliamentary Hearing in United Nations
Members of the National Assembly's standing delegation to the Inter-Parliamentary Union, National Assembly Deputy Speaker Snezana Paunovic and Secretary General Srdjan Smiljanic, took part in this year's Parliamentary Hearing on 13 and 14 February 2025, traditionally held at the United Nations, in New York, USA.
The theme of the Parliamentary Hearing is: Scaling up action for the Sustainable Development Goals: Finance, Institutions and Policy.
This year's Parliamentary Hearing focuses on some of the very important topics related to the sustainable development goals set by the 2030 Agenda, such as: Debt crisis and the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals), International trade for the SDGs – the challenge of poverty eradication through export-led growth, and Private investments for the SDGs - the role of private long-term investments and international finance.
The goal of this year's Parliamentary Hearing is to take a deeper look at ways and mechanisms to combat poverty, reduce inequalities and disparities, and once again call on all countries to embark on the path of sustainable development.
