National Assembly Delegation at World e-Parliament Conference

A delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia will take part in the World e-Parliament Conference, to be held in Rome from 13 to 15 September 2012.

The World e-Parliament Conference dates back to 2007 and is co-organised by the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and Global Centre for Information and Communication Technologies in Parliament. It offers the opportunity for parliamentarians, higher officers and IT experts in the parliament to learn about the importance of e-parliament and the most recent information technology achievements, as well as exchange practical experience. Taking part in this year’s conference is especially important in view of the project of introducing e-parliament into the National Assembly, which is to enter its final realisation stage and begin implementation in September.

The conference will include parliamentary representatives from more than 90 countries, as well as representatives of numerous international organisations. The conference is hosted by the Italian Parliament’s Chamber of Deputies.

The National Assembly’s delegation, comprising members of different bodies and representatives of the parliamentary clubs of both the ruling majority and the opposition, MPs Aleksandra Djurovic, Katarina Rakic, Nada Kolundzija, Nenad Konstantinovic, Zoran Kasalovic, Jovan Palalic and Olgica Batic, as well as Deputy Secretaries General Mladen Mladenovic and Radoslav Vujovic, will be headed by Zoran Babic, Chairman of the Committee on Administrative, Budgetary, Mandate and Immunity Issues.

The participation of the National Assembly’s delegation at the World e-Parliament Conference is realised by the OSCE Mission to Serbia, and the cost is covered in full by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).
