National Assembly Delegation at OSCE PA Winter Meeting

The National Assembly’s standing delegation to the OSCE PA, headed by Dr Dijana Vukomanovic, is taking part in the organisation’s winter meeting in Vienna, 18-21 February 2015.

The Head of the Serbian parliamentary delegation, Dr Dijana Vukomanovic, emphasised the significance of the meeting, especially in light of Serbia’s chairmanship the OSCE this year.
The European parliamentarians mainly focused on the Ukraine crisis, said Vukomanovic adding that the winter meeting had a special debate dedicated to the topic. The Head of the Serbian parliamentary delegation said that parliamentary diplomacy can contribute to understanding and dialogue in Europe as peace-making tools.
At the margins of the session, the National Assembly’s standing delegation to OSCE PA met with the Swiss and German parliamentary delegations, former and future OSCE chairs.
Dijana Vukomanovic announced that, in late March, the National Assembly will be organising and hosting a one-day meeting of OSCE member states’ parliamentarians on the role and future of OSCE missions in the field. Vukomanovic stressed that this is a very important topic for the Western Balkan countries, adding that, as Chairperson-in-Office, Ivica Dacic will visit all the OSCE missions in the field. This helps improve dialogue and democracy in our societies and promote the values OSCE stand for, concluded Vukomanovic.
The OSCE PA winter meeting is attended by 250 parliamentarians from 57 countries of Europe, Asia and North America.
