National Assembly Delegation Meets with Slovenian National Assembly’s Commission for Supervision of Intelligence and Security Services Deputy Chair

The Chairperson of the Security Services Control Committee, Jadranka Joksimovic, and Committee member Meho Omerovic, met yesterday, in Ljubljana, with the Deputy Chair of the Commission for Supervision of Intelligence and Security Services of the National Assembly (Drzavni Zbor) of the Republic of Slovenia, Srecko Meh.


Committee Chairperson Jadranka Joksimovic briefed her host on the scope and activities of the Security Services Control Committee. The Committee delegation was particularly interested in the legislation set up to ensure the detailed regulation of the Slovenian Commission’s scope and authority.
The officials agreed about the potentials for establishing regular cooperation and contact between the Committee and Commission in order to exchange experiences, which would boost the efficiency of the supervision of the intelligence and security sector. At the same time they stressed the need to deepen the cooperation between the two parliaments which would in turn strengthen the cooperation between the two countries, and undoubtedly, further promote regional cooperation.
The delegation of the Security Services Control Committee is visiting the Republic of Serbia in order to take part in the two-day International Conference on “Connecting supervisory authorities – assessment and strengthening of supervision over intelligence services in Western Balkan countries.
