National Assembly Chairman meets Protekta NGO officials

The Chairman of the National Assembly, Predrag Markovic, today met with officials of Nis-based Protekta, a non-governmental organisation dedicated to civil society development.



The Chairman of the National Assembly, Predrag Markovic, today met with officials of Nis-based Protekta, a non-governmental organisation dedicated to civil society development.

NGOs from the Nis region had organised the signing of a petition to initiate de-centralisation of Serbia and adopt a special law to repeal the decision adopted by the Republic Broadcasting Agency’s decision to issue national television broadcasting licences. The petition was signed by 18,286 Serbian citizens. Mladen Jovanovic, Protekta’s programme director, and Dragan Videnovic, chairman of the Media and Reform Centre, informed Mr Markovic of the petition, and officially submitted the signed petition to the Assembly’s receiving clerk.
