NARS Speaker in Official Visit to Libya

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic was received by the General Coordinator of the Revolutionary Committees’ Liaison Office Abdel Kadar.

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic was received by the General Coordinator of the Revolutionary Committees’ Liaison Office Abdel Kadar. Kadar was pleased at the Assembly Speaker’s visit to Libya which is a significant step forward in expanding the two country’s relations.

Both sides noted that Serbia and Libya enjoy excellent relations which should be furthered by concrete projects primarily in the spheres already experiencing growth – education, health care, defense, construction, pharmaceuticals and culture. Declaring Serbia an important friend, Kadar stressed that cooperation should be concretised by the realisation of projects in all spheres of life. Djukic-Dejanovic pointed out that Libya is taking important steps in the spheres of politics, economy and friendship between Serbia and Libya and expressed gratitude at its principled position regarding the non-recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo-Metohija and abiding by the UN Charter. Kadar emphasised dialogue as the right way to the truth and justice.

The NARS Speaker also spoke with the Secretary of the People’s Committee for External Relations and International Cooperation (Minister of Foreign Affairs) Musa Kusa, and is still to meet with the Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Secretary at the General People’s Congress.

The NARS Speaker is in official visit to Libya until Monday, 25 October 2010. Vesna Marjanovic, Culture Committee Chairperson and President of the National Assembly’s Friendship Group with Africa, is accompanying the Speaker.
