The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic visited the Municipality of Zabari on Zabari Municipality Day where she attended the ceremonial session of Zabari Municipal Assembly. On the occasion, the NARS Speaker was presented with the October Award and Zabari Municipality Plaque for her contribution to the affirmation of Zabari Municipality.

The NARS Speaker congratulated the Zabari Municipality Day to all of its citizens and extended gratitude for the October Award. On the occasion, she stressed that events such as this are a clear demonstration of commitment to the affirmation of the municipality itself and creation of the conditions for a better life of all of its citizens. “You are blessed by the fertile Morava soil, well connected roads with all parts of Serbia, all the pre-conditions to become a highly developed municipality in Serbia. The creation of the ambient conducive to the development of local self-government is an issue that the whole state agrees on. We wish to represent a Serbia attractive to investors and so improve the lives of all of our citizens”, added the Speaker.

After it, the Speaker visited Tabanovac where, at 2 p.m., she opened the reconstructed bridge over Busur River, closed for a year and re-opened thanks to the donation by Serbian Roads. In addition to the NARS Speaker, the opening was attended by Zoran Drobnjak, Director of Serbian Roads, Petrovac na Mlavi Municipality management and a number of deputies.

Opening the bridge, the NARS Speaker stated that the realisation of infrastructural objects in Serbia gives hope for a better future. “It is investments such as this by Serbian Roads for the Petrovac-Svilajnac regional road in the part of Serbia connected with all the Serbian roads, which contribute to the development of transportation, better flow of goods, services and people. Projects such as this, especially in times of global economic crisis, demonstrate that Serbia is not giving up on creating better conditions for its citizens and achieving all the priorities on which the state is in agreement. If Serbia, as the central Southeast European state did not build roads and invest in infrastructure, it would lose a lot of money, its credibility and influence in the world. By passing legal documents, the National Assembly supports these projects, highly important not only on the national but international plane as well”, said the Speaker.
