NARS Speaker Receives Mali’s Foreign Minister

Today, National Assembly Speaker Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic received Moctar Ouane, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Mali, currently in official visit to Serbia.



Today, National Assembly Speaker Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic received Moctar Ouane, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Mali, currently in official visit to Serbia.

Djukic-Dejanovic and Ouane agreed that almost 50 years of traditional friendship encourage furthering bilateral relations between Mali and Serbia in both the political and economic sphere. They noted a shared wish to improve relations on both the level of executive and legislative government.

Both sides desire broader parliamentary cooperation which would prove beneficial for further development of the two countries’ overall relations. On the behalf of the Mali’s Parliament Speaker, Ouane invited the NARS Speaker to visit the Republic of Mali, and Djukic-Dejanovic countered the invitation with gratitude.

Above all, Djukic-Dejanovic thanked the guest for the exceptionally principled attitude regarding Serbia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty. It was stressed that the ruling of the International Court of Justice would give the opportunity and cause to open dialogue that would resolve the Kosovo-Metohija issue in line with Security Council Resolution 1244, international law and UN Charter principles. Ouane stressed that Republic of Mali’s support of Serbia was a matter of principle and that it would be a lasting one.
