The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic, congratulated the Montenegrin Assembly Speaker Ranko Krivokapic and the citizens of Montenegro on earning EU candidate status.

“This decision of the heads of state and governments of the countries - members of the European Union is the result of the efforts of the Montenegrin Government and people on the approach to the European Union, as well as the wish of the European Union to endorse the European future of the Western Balkan countries.

I am sure that I share your opinion that good-neighbourly relations, European commitment and regional cooperation must remain the cornerstone of the relations between our two countries, and that we, as representatives of the legislative power, must especially contribute to reaching this common goal”, says the letter of congratulations among other things.
