They emphasised the importance of the role their respective parliaments play in further strengthening cooperation between the two countries both on the political and economic plane. They confirmed both sides’ strong commitment to one clear goal - realising Serbia’s European perspective and common future in the European Union.

Petsalnikos highlighted the Greek firm support of Serbia’s progress to the EU, adding that he expected Serbia to be granted EU candidate status in March. Slavica Djukic Dejanovic extended thanks for the Greek support in the sphere of Euro-integration and preservation of Serbia’s territorial integrity.

The National Assembly Speaker declared the two countries’ economic and political relations excellent adding that deepening parliamentary cooperation would contribute to it further.
