Greeting the Ambassador, the Head of the PFG with Macedonia MA Dejan Radenkovic said that the Parliamentary Friendship Group boasts 29 members. He opined that the relations between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Macedonia are very close, adding that one of the motives for today’s meeting is to discuss how to further cooperation between the two countries. MA Radenkovic also emphasised the need for and importance of improving interparliamentary cooperation between Serbia and Macedonia via specific proposals and suggestions.

The Macedonian Ambassador in Belgrade, H.E. Vera Jovanovska deemed the interparliamentary dialogue between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Macedonia traditionally good, however adding that there is still room for improvement. She stressed that it would be very important to focus on boosting economic cooperation, saying that Serbia is Macedonia’s fifth trade partner. The Ambassador also pointed out how important it would be to further regional cooperation, listing the exchange of experience relating to Euro-integration between the two countries as a significant joint activity.

In the course of the meeting, the members of the PFG with Macedonia agreed that it is essential to boost economic and regional cooperation between the two countries, deeming the maintenance of stability in this part of the Balkans extremely important both for Serbia and Macedonia.

The meeting was attended by PFG with Macedonia members Milan Novakovic, Boban Birmancevic, Dusan Petrovic, Aleksandar Cotric and Dusan Stupar.
