Members of Parliamentary Friendship Group with Belgium Talk to Belgian Ambassador in Belgrade
The members of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Belgium met today, at the National Assembly House, with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium in Belgrade, H.E. Leo D'aes.
The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium said that Belgium urges the European Union to include the Western Balkan countries as soon as possible, among which, he added, Serbia has an important place. The Ambassador commended the legislative activity of the National Assembly which had recently passed a great many laws, in cooperation with the Government of the Republic of Serbia, aimed at political and economic reform. Speaking of cooperation between the two countries, H.E. Leo D'aes said he was sure Belgian investors wanted to cooperate with Serbia, underlining the importance of interparliamentary cooperation for the improvement of overall relations.
The officials also discussed cooperation in the field of energy, and the Ambassador said that Belgian companies are particularly interested in renewable energy sources in Serbia.
The meeting was also attended by Velinka Tosic, Ljiljana Beronja, Nebojsa Tatomir, Nenad Mitrovic, Milan Petric, Dr Aleksandar Peranovic and Vlado Babic, members of the PFG with Belgium.
