Marinkovic Awarded Peace Run Medal and Torch

MP Prof. Dr Vladimir Marinkovic received today, at the National Assembly House, the international team of the Peace Run.

The Peace Run is the longest relay race dedicated to peace, harmony and friendship between people. This year, it will follow the course of the Danube, which was declared the "River of Peace", taking eight days to cross our country where it will pass through 16 cities.

"I would like to welcome our friends and partners from the Peace Run, especially our Olympian Jovana Prekovic, Mr Knezevic and Nicholas William, and everyone who is with us today. This, by now traditional event, is very important for our National Assembly as well as our country, sending a beautiful and humane message of peace and openness of our country and institutions for such excellent and great initiatives", said Marinkovic. He went on to stress that the Peace Run is especially symbolic now, at a time of great crisis for the world at large.

"I think that we will be able to join forces and contribute to making our region more stable, as well as making the world a more stable place on a global level," Marinkovic said.

The president of Peace Run Serbia Predrag Knezevic symbolically handed Marinkovic the peace torch and presented him with the Peace Run medal for his tireless efforts in creating a better world and spreading good will among people.

The president of Peace Run Europe Nikolas William Jakovic and the Peace Run Serbia Predrag Knezevic also addressed the audience.
