Macedonian Parliamentary Green Lobby Group Talks to Environmental Protection Committee Members

A delegation of the Macedonian Parliamentary Green Lobby Group talked to the members of the Environmental Protection Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and deputies, members of the Serbian Parliamentary Green Lobby Group.



A delegation of the Macedonian Parliamentary Green Lobby Group talked to the members of the Environmental Protection Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and deputies, members of the Serbian Parliamentary Green Lobby Group.

The members of the Environmental Protection Committee briefed the guests on the National Assembly and Committee’s activities pointing out that in 2009 the National Assembly adopted a set of environmental laws compliant with European legislation. The officials also shared parliamentary experiences and exchanged opinions on the activities that should be jointly implemented in order to improve the environmental situation in this part of Europe.

In the meeting, the representatives of BELLS movement (Balkan Environmental Life Leadership Standard) outlined the plan for future cooperation between the parliaments of the Western Balkans region, part of the two-year project Regional Environmental Advocacy Action and Cohesion in Western Balkans. The project aims to maker the issue of environmental conservation in the region an economic and social policy priority, with the help of the parliaments.
