MP Mladen Grujic at IPU Virtual Meeting

On 21 October 2020, MP Mladen Grujic took part today in the virtual meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) where the members of the IPU delegations were introduced to the IPU presidential candidates - the Chairman of the Senate of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani, First Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Uzbekistan Akmal Saidov, Canadian Senator Salma Ataullahjan and the Vice-President of the Parliament of the Republic of Portugal Duarte Pacheco.

The presidential candidates are interviewed by the members of the Executive Committee, Bureau of Women Parliamentarians, Board of the Forum of Young Parliamentarians, chairpersons of the geopolitical groups and other IPU officials.

The election of the IPU President to head the oldest international parliamentary institution for the next three years will be held during the meeting of the IPU Governing Council to be held 1 – 4 November 2020.

MPs Mladen Grujic, Milorad Mijatovic and Jelena Mijatovic are members of the IPU Governing Council on behalf of the National Assembly.
