MP Goran Milic Takes Part in SEECP PA Plenary Session

MP Goran Milic, in his capacity as the Head of the standing delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia to the Parliamentary Assembly of the South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP), took part, from 8 to 10 June 2025, in the Plenary Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the South-East European Cooperation Process in Tirana.

On the first day, the participants attended meetings of the general committees, as well as a meeting of the Standing Committee, at which they agreed on the final text of the Declaration, which was adopted at the Plenary Session.

The Plenary Session was held on the second day. In the introductory part of the session, the participants were addressed by the Speaker of the Parliament of Albania, Elisa Spiropali, and the Speaker of the Parliament of Bulgaria, Nataliya Kiselova. In his address to the Plenary Session during the discussion on the "Parliamentary Cooperation for the Enhancement of Regional Connectivity in South-East Europe", Goran Milic underlined Serbia's firm commitment to regional cooperation, peace and stability. He said that MPs in the region have a responsibility to build a legal and political framework that will enable faster and more efficient connectivity of the region. He stressed that it is the task of MPs is to be a voice of reason and cooperation — even in moments when political tensions threaten to slow down progress. He said that it is necessary to work together on harmonising legislation that facilitates cross-border investments, supporting projects in the fields of transport, energy and digital infrastructure, and strengthening parliamentary diplomacy as a means of overcoming differences and building trust. He went on to say that Serbia believes in a region without barriers, in a region of cooperation, not conflict, and that regional connectivity is not just a matter of infrastructure, but above all — the connection of people, ideas and values. He stated that only together can we create a space in which our citizens — young people, entrepreneurs, workers, scientists — will see the future, not reasons to leave. He expressed Serbia's readiness to continue to actively work in the future to improve the existing cooperation mechanisms that will contribute to strengthening stability, peace and prosperity in our region, and emphasised that Serbia remains firmly committed to developing and strengthening friendly and partnership relations with everyone in the region, always following the principles of mutual respect, dialogue and cooperation.
