MP Aleksandar Mirkovic at 29th Parliamentary Security Forum

MP Aleksandar Mirkovic, member of the Foreign Affairs Committee and the Security Services Control Committee, is taking part in the 29th Parliamentary Security Forum, in Madrid on 22 and 23 May 2025.

This year, the forum is attended by 182 participants from 57 countries, government representatives, experts, parliamentarians and the academic community, who are dealing with cybersecurity problems, challenges and advantages in using artificial intelligence tools and global security.

On the sidelines of the first day of the conference, Aleksandar Mirkovic met with Edina Uriarte, Chairperson of the Spanish Senate Mixed Commission for Security. The officials affirmed the good and friendly relations between the two countries, with the conclusion that in the coming period, concrete steps should be taken to intensify parliamentary relations in the context of the development of bilateral interparliamentary cooperation, as well as cooperation on issues of common interest at international forums. "Thanks to the policy of President Aleksandar Vucic, Serbia today is a strong, independent and prosperous country, which conducts its policy exclusively in the interests of its citizens," said Aleksandar Mirkovic.

Also, on the sidelines of the Forum, Mirkovic had numerous bilateral meetings with representatives of Uganda, Nigeria, Georgia, Cyprus, India, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, France, Spain, the USA and other member countries.

Many topics were raised in the meetings with the aim of advancing cooperation and mutual understanding.

Mirkovic used this opportunity to thank the countries that do not recognise the independence of the so-called state of Kosovo and emphasised that in this way, not only Serbia's interests are protected, but also the UN Charter and international law.

Member of the Foreign Affairs Committee and the Security Services Control Committee Aleksandar Mirkovic informed all the officials he met with about the current situation in Kosovo-Metohija and the terror that is happening daily against the Serbian population, noting that, unfortunately, there is no adequate reaction from international institutions.
