The oath was taken by 60 newly-elected judges of the basic courts in Lazarevac, Obrenovac, Velika Plana, Nis, Kragujevac, Kraljevo, Kursumlija, Novi Pazar, Cacak, First Basic Court in Belgrade, Second Basic Court in Belgrade, Third Basic Court in Belgrade, commercial courts in Zrenjanin, Novi Sad and Cacak, the Administrative Court, as well as the misdemeanour courts in Novi Pazar and Cacak.

Gojkovic said that she was sure the newly-elected judges would arbitrate independently and without bias, in line with the Constitution and law, following their conscience, and ensure a just trial for every citizen, thus contributing to the reputation of the judicial office.

“I believe that in the course of your three-year term of office, as newly-elected bearers of judicial office, you will greatly contribute to the continued reform of the judicial system”, Gojkovic told the newly-elected judges.

In addition, the 22 deputy public prosecutors elected at the National Assembly sitting of 7 October, also took the oath of office before the National Assembly Speaker who wished them success and expressed her firm belief that in their work they would follow their conscience and the law, ensuring that the law is equally respected for each citizen and contributing to the reputation of the prosecutorial office.
