Judges Take Oath of Office at National Assembly

Judge of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Serbia, judges elected to judicial office for the first time and newly-elected deputy public prosecutors took the oath of office at the National Assembly before Parliament Speaker Maja Gojkovic.


Constitutional Court Judge Lidija Djukic, appointed by the General Session of the Supreme Court of Cassation at the session of 19 April 2019, took the oath of office at the National Assembly.

The oath was also taken by the judges elected to judicial office for the first time at the Serbian Assembly sessions held on 14 February and 10 July 2019, in the basic courts in Novi Sad, Pancevo, Veliko Gradiste, Zrenjanin, Ivanjica, Kraljevo, Krusevac, Mionica, Raska, commercial courts in Uzice, Zajecar, Kragujevac and misdemeanour courts in Backa Palanka, Zajecar, Krusevac, Nis, Pirot, Ruma and Cacak.

Gojkovic said she believed the newly-elected judges would contribute to the continued reforms to build an independent, modern and efficient judiciary and advance the rule of law.

“I believe you will arbitrate independently and without bias, in line with the law and Constitution, following your conscience, ensure a just trial for everyone and contribute to the reputation of the judicial office in the Republic of Serbia”, Gojkovic told the newly-elected judges.

Deputy public prosecutors elected to the first, second and third public prosecutor’s office in Belgrade and basic public prosecutor’s offices in Mladenovac, Arandjelovac, Ub, Vrsac, Novi Sad, Ruma, Subotica, Vrbas, Krusevac, Raska, Cacak, Gornji MIlanovac, Jagodina, Kraljevo, Paracin, Nis, Vranje, Prokuplje, Pirot, Negotin and Vladicin Han also took the oath of office.

Gojkovic wished them success and expressed her firm belief that in their work they would follow their conscience and the law, ensuring that the law is equally respected for each citizen and contributing to the reputation of the prosecutorial office.
