Human and Minority Rights and Gender Equality Committee Chairman Congratulates International Roma Day

The Chairman of the Committee on Human and Minority Rights and Gender Equality Aleksandar Markovic congratulated International Roma Day:

“Allow me to congratulate International Roma Day to all the members of the Roma national minority.

This day should remind us how important it is for every multicultural society to cultivate differences and fight stereotypes and discrimination. The Roma community, with its specificities, culture, language and customs, represents and very important segment of our society and it needs our continuous support for an increased participation in education, employment, social and health care and protection.

Happy International Roma Day to all Roma women and men with the sincerest wishes to dedicate more effort to the improvement of the conditions for the full participation of the Roma community in all segments of our society.”
