The Head of the PFG with Tunisia Biljana Hasanovic Korac welcomed Tunisian Ambassador Mohamed Bougamra promising to initiate more meetings in the coming period and adding that the most important thing for the two countries’ friendship is to cultivate and develop it.

Tunisian Ambassador Mohamed Bougamra thanked the Head of the PFG with Tunisia for her time and invited the entire PFG to visit the Tunisian residence. He also asked the Head of PFG with Tunisia to persuade the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to rescind its recommendation to the Serbian citizens not to travel to Tunisia because of last year’s terrorist attacks, stressing that the situation in Tunisia, especially its tourist destinations, has greatly improved since then. “Tunisia went through a difficult period of transition that has had a big impact on our citizens’ economic and social lives, and the return of Serbian tourists would be very important for Tunisia as it would reinvigorate its tourism”, said the Tunisian Ambassador.

Biljana Hasanovic Korac promised to meet with the members of the PFG with Tunisia, made up of MPs coming from different political parties, and try to speak with representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but stressed that Serbia is in the midst of a campaign to boost domestic tourism.

The Tunisian Ambassador thanked the PFG Head for her availability and promised assistance, adding that Tunisia will be occupying two stands at the coming tourism fair and that the Tunisian Minister of Tourism would be visiting Serbia on the occasion.

The officials agreed to join forces in the fight against terrorism and the attacks which are a global threat, and also agreed that they should not influence the lives of common people.
