Head of Parliamentary Friendship Group with Italy Speaks to Italian Foreign Ministry Balkan Office Director

The Head of the National Assembly’s Parliamentary Friendship Group with Italy, Sanda Raskovic Ivic, spoke last week, in Belgrade, with the new Director of the Italian Foreign Ministry’s Balkan Office, Carlo Lo Cascio.


Office Director Lo Cascio was interested in the political situation in Serbia, deeming that there has been progress in the region and that Serbia is the pillar of its stability. This is all very important for Italy considering its vast investments into Serbia and the fact that it is a strong advocate of Serbia’s accession to the European Union.
The Head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Italy, Sanda Raskovic Ivic, briefed the guest on the current political situation in Serbia, which she deemed complex. Raskovic Ivic said that Serbia considers its relationship with Italy very important and the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Italy created at the National Assembly would commence dialogue and cooperation with the friendship group with Serbia at the Italian Parliament after the parliamentary elections in Italy.
