Gojkovic on International Day of Persons with Disabilities
On the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Maja Gojkovic would like to point out that though there has been some progress in the legislation protecting the rights of people with disabilities, they still face insurmountable obstacles.
The Serbian Assembly has this year passed two laws which should improve the position of people with disabilities – the Law on the Use of Sign Language and the Law on the Use of Guide Dogs, and it is still to review the amendments and modifications to the Law on Prevention of Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities.
