Gojkovic and Nkodo Dang sign Memorandum of Understanding

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Maja Gojkovic met today with the President of the Pan-African Parliament Roger Nkodo Dang and signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the two parliaments, first of its kind between the National Assembly and a continental organization.


Gojkovic and Nkodo Dang agreed that the Memorandum of Understanding is the beginning of a new type of parliamentary cooperation in the interest of the citizens, adding that they expected the cooperation to give rise to a number of projects.

The Memorandum envisions the National Assembly and the Pan-African Parliament, in view of the common interest and importance of developing close friendly relations between Serbia and the member states of the Pan-African Parliament, to encourage fostering and developing cooperation at the highest parliamentary level between the parliamentary working bodies and intensify cooperation at the level of international parliamentary organizations on issues of common interest.

On the first day of the visit, yesterday, the National Assembly Speaker addressed the members of the Pan-African Parliament at the plenary session, and also met with the heads of parliament of the member states.
