Fourth Sitting of the Culture and Information Committee
At the sitting held on 26 December, the Culture and Information Committee discussed the Information on the election of members of the Council of the Broadcasting Agency.
At the sitting held on 26 December, the Culture and Information Committee discussed the Information on the election of members of the Council of the Broadcasting Agency. The sitting was chaired by Vesna Marjanovic, Committee Chairperson.
Having discussed the Information, the Committee decided to request that, under article 27 paragraph 7 of the Broadcasting Act, the authorised nominators for members of Broadcasting Agency Council submit a finalised list containing the names of two candidates for Council members, within 15 days. This pertains to nominators from media associations and non-government organisations and civic associations who answered the public appeal of the Speaker of the National Assembly of the
The Committee also decided to request an opinion from the Ministry of Culture regarding the application of article 24 paragraph 1 of the Act on whether the formulation “obligatory two candidates” means that the candidate list for RBA Council members contains two candidates only, or if it is possible to have more candidates.
At the sitting, the Committee also considered the Information of the Prosveta-Nezavisnost Publishing Company proposing that “Geca Kon” bookshop keep its name and purpose and that the building be put into the care of the Belgrade City Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments.
