At the sitting held on 23 April, the Administrative Committee discussed the Report on the National Assembly’s expenses for the period January-March 2009.

Presenting the analysis of the National Assembly’s expenses in the first three months of the year, National Assembly Secretary Veljko Odalovic stated that from January to March the parliament had spent 21% of this year’s intended funds. The budgetary rebalance proposal cuts the funds intended for the National Assembly by about 400 million RSD, amounting to 1.609 billion RSD, Odalovic said and estimated that, in spite of the budgetary cut, by implementing economising measures, the parliament will manage to follow the work and expenditure dynamics set at the beginning of the year and will not overreach the planned framework.

The Committee members endorsed the economising measures stressing that, the measures notwithstanding, sending standing delegations to sessions of international parliamentary organisations should not be brought into question, as they are in the interest of the state.

The Committee Chairman announced that the Committee will do three-monthly follow-ups on the National Assembly’s expenditure and adopt the final report at the end of the year.

The Committee went on to unanimously adopt a Decision amending the decision on deputy reimbursement fully abolishing a deputy’s right to catering reimbursement when attending National Assembly and working bodies’ sessions.
