Forty-Eighth Sitting of the Committee on Labour, Ex-Servicemen’s and Social Issues

At the sitting held on 10 April 2012, the Committee on Labour, Ex-Servicemen’s and Social Issues considered the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy Activity Information for the period 1 January – 31 December 2011.


State Secretary at the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy Zoran Martinovic stated that in the course of 2011 all social benefits were paid on time. About 72 billion RSD were paid, the highest amounts going to the sphere of family and child welfare, social welfare and ex-servicemen’s disability welfare, stated Martinovic. One-time financial assistance was very frequent last year - about 172 million RSD were paid to citizens living in the third and fourth group of most endangered municipalities, added Martinovic.
In the debate with the Ministry representatives, the Committee members stressed the need to pass a law on ex-servicemen’s disability welfare, and also inquired about the dynamics of the adoption of by-laws relating to the Law on Social Welfare.
The Committee on Labour, Ex-Servicemen’s and Social Issues adopted the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy Activity Information for the period 1 January – 31 December 2011.
The Committee went on to consider and adopt the Bill on the Confirmation of the Social Security Agreement between the Republic of Serbia and Republic of Austria and the Bill on the Confirmation of the Social Security Agreement between the Republic of Serbia and Republic of Slovakia.
The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Meho Omerovic.
